The Australian Centre for Energy and Process Training (ACEPT) is the leading provider of process operations training for the Australian oil and gas, mineral and chemical processing industries.

Hosted by South Metropolitan TAFE, ACEPT has been founded in collaboration with industry, and is guided by a 25-member Industry Board comprising representatives from major operating and service companies.

The Federal and State Government, together with companies in the resources sector, have contributed $21 million to the construction of ACEPT. The industry assistance is continuing in the form of advice and input into skills development to guarantee that the training provided is focused on the provision of the current skills needs of industry and process operators.

The Centre offers certificates under the Australian Qualifications Framework and short courses designed to meet industry and individual client needs. Training is offered in a variety of formats including classroom based, “live” training on the process plant, simulation, online, correspondence, workplace based and skills recognition using workplace based assessors.

ACEPT can also tailor courses specific to the individual needs of companies and workplaces.
